To run FNIS, put your mouse over the Icon itself, which will add a right facing arrow, and click it. Save the tool config, and an entry will be added in the tools list for FNIS. And lastly, For Start In, put the folder it is in, "C:\All My Games\Skyrim Anniversary Edition\Data\tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users\". Leave the command line blank, as parameters are not needed. As an example, you listed "C:\All My Games\Skyrim Anniversary Edition\Data\tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users\GenerateFNISforUsers.exe". For the Target, enter the path to GenerateaFNIS_for_Users.exe. ![]() In the popup window, for the name, enter FNIS. It will have a (+) Icon with "Add Tool", and select "New". In Vortex, go to the dashboard, and look for a section titled "Tools". I will try and explain, and then see if I can find the tutorial to link for you. Good to know that Nemesis can stand in for FNIS, so thanks for your post! That error happened to me when I started with Vortex, and reading through the thread I do not see anyone explaining that it is best run from Vortex. ATM I'm waiting for Odyssey of the Dragonborn to come out, That will be my next big playthrough and if FNIS is still broke, I'll give Nemesis a go. A few times I have had game breaking bugs after weeks of play where I had to abandon the playthrough (eg persistent CTD on entering a cell - never found a reason for that). ![]() I play Skyrim with over 600 plugins and a playthrough takes months. For the time being, I'll carry on banging my against a brick wall with FNIS and keep looking on the forum to see if anyone has found a way to make FNIS work with GOG. Never used it, but on the Nexus, the bug list is a very long. Any ideas? Maybe stupid question, but are you sure you have FNIS for Skyrim Special Edition? The first warning is not true - I am running the generator from the Skyrim data folder, just not the Steam version. Both times, I have an error which shows that whatever I do, FNIS looking for a Steam version of Skyrim. I have tried running FNIS (for GOG Skyrim) through MO2, and also, by manually installing FNIS to the GOG Skying folder. But in my case it probably caused stutter.Īfter installation of the mod, remember to run exe in your game directory (subdirectory Tool). 17h modding today and 7 of those hours have been spent trying to get fnis to work with mo2 which insists on installing Fnis in a location that breaks it.Mihuk: I have been able to run FNIS. run-time installation of mods through a solution similar to MOO2s USVFS. nor can Fnis read it's own add ons when they are installed via MO2 The only thing that changed between the 3 was on the first two tried the first run with not patches ticked, the second with the top two patches ticked and the 3 one having encountered the error 2012 endlessly when trying to run it from MO2, i went directly to the folder where the tool was and ran it from location on try 3. it's not going directly to the directory files as Fnis likes, no it's going to some obscure location. only problem seems to be i 1: get the dreaded 2012 error code, or MO2s pathing is so crazy the program can not run at all :/ and i've found that MO2 is installing the mods in the most obscure of locations today. I am literally going insane trying to get Fnis to run in MO2, i've followed many guides that show you how to instal fnis via MO2.
